Our Founder’s day event will take place Saturday October 11 from 11am to 1pm. Location is the trailhead on Badwell Cemetery road, which is off Huguenot Parkway. Free hots dogs, homemade ice cream and refreshments for everyone. Savannah Valley Railroad tee shirts will be available for purchase. Donations are always appreciated. Come out and enjoy a fall day on the trail.

Savannah Valley Railroad Trail founders day will be Saturday October 14 from 11am - 1 pm. The event will take place at the Badwell Cemetery trail head off of Huguenot Parkway. Free hot dogs, homemade ice cream and refreshments will be provided. Also, SVRT tee shirts will be available for purchase. Donations are greatly appreciated and helps with maintaining of the trail. Come out for a fall walk. Rain date is October 21.

This past weekend McCormick County was host to this years Bikes Across South Carolina event. Nearly 400 bikers came from 13 states and camped on the John De La Howe school grounds. Bikers came as far as California to attend and ride routes anywhere from 20+ to 50+ miles per day. Savannah Valley Railroad Trail was one of the vendors at the grounds Friday and Saturday. We like to thank everyone that stopped by our booth for information about our trail and also appreciated your donations to our organization. I was glad to hear that some riders got to ride the 9 mile SVRT. We agree that McCormick County is a beautiful outdoor paradise and hope you can return soon !

Thanks everyone that came out yesterday for this years Founder’s Day. It was one of the largest crowds we ever had. It was a perfect day to be on the trail. Your donation generosity was way above our expectations, nearly $800.00. Hope everybody enjoyed the free hot dogs, Bernie’s homemade ice cream and refreshments. This coming Saturday October 15th SVRT will be in Willington from 11am-1pm. Check out the bookshop and history center. Bernie’s homemade ice will be served by SVRT volunteers. Hikers, bikers and all are welcomed. Look for the yellow tent. Also, SVRT Is a vendor October 14th and 15th for Bicycle’s Across South Carolina event from 4pm -7pm.
