Parents:

For the past several years, the National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) has been sending letters to students inviting them to join their organization and pay a membership fee. NSHSS is a legitimate organization and is not a scam.

However, please know that you are under no obligation to pay the membership fee or join NSHSS. Receiving or declining this invitation will not affect your student's membership in the National Honor Society (NHS) at MHS in any way.

Additionally, choosing not to join NSHSS will not impact your student's ability to apply for scholarships, graduate, or pursue future educational opportunities. While NSHSS does offer some national scholarship opportunities and benefits to its members, participation is entirely optional and is separate from MHS.

Our district phones, computers, and network services will be unavailable beginning at 3:00 p.m. today (June 29, 2026). The outage is expected to continue through the remainder of the week as we complete important system updates and maintenance.
