May you rest in peace, Randolph Mantooth aka Johnny Gage.

Actor Randolph Mantooth, known to so many of us as Firefighter/Paramedic "Johnny Gage" from the hit television show Emergency in the 70's, passed away on 070926, after an extensive battle with cancer.

Thank you "Johnny " for being an advocate and outspoken supporter to the fire service all your life. You will be deeply missed.

R.I.P., and know....you made a difference and a huge impact on so many of us.

Here at The Hall of Flame Museum of Firefighting, we send our deepest condolences to the Mantooth family, his friends and to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

This morning Paramedic Supervisor Michelle and EMT Phil attended the Burgettstown JR/SR High School career day for 2026. This was a valuable chance to answer questions, provide guidance, and connect with the next generation of EMS providers in our community. The following offers a concise overview of this morning’s event.

Students ranged from 7th to 12th grade, with between 80 and 110 students participating. They were given a formatted query, followed by an open forum for questions about our daily operations, what we enjoy most about the job, the length of schooling, and more. Taking time to respond to their questions in this environment was truly valuable.

Thank you to the staff of the Burgettstown Area School District for organizing this great event. And a special thank you to our own, Michelle and Phil for making this a successful event for the students.

Don’t forget about the time change. One step closer to spring.

Before, during, and after the storm, Fort Cherry Ambulance Service is prepared. Here’s how our community can stay safe:

Before the storm:
• Ensure medications and oxygen equipment are ready.
• Have food, water, batteries, and flashlights prepared.
• Charge phones and critical medical devices.
• Create a plan for heat and potential power outages.
• Stay home if possible to reduce traffic-related emergencies.

During the storm:
• If you call 911, answer all dispatcher questions and follow instructions.
• Stay home and use approved heating equipment.

After the storm:
• Roads may remain dangerous, especially secondary roads.
• Use caution when clearing snow or ice—injuries and medical issues can happen.

Please stay safe, check on neighbors, and avoid unnecessary travel. If you need us, we are only one phone call away.
