Communities In Schools of Henry County

Communities In Schools of Henry County Our goal is to support youth, improve graduation rates, academic achievement, and job and post-secondary school readiness.

Whether students are learning in school or at home, Communities In Schools will be working all day, every day, to bring resources like meals, hygiene supplies, access to technology and learning materials to kids that need them the most. We help students reengage in learning, recover from the emotional trauma of the last several months, and reimagine learning environments to be safe, effective, and equitable.

Hearing directly from students reminds us why this work matters. Their experiences with Communities In Schools programs tell the real story of support, stability, and opportunity inside our schools.

Student voice strengthens the mission and shapes the future.

Support looks like showing up.

It looks like safe spaces, steady adults, and moments that remind students they matter.

When students are supported, everything changes.

Va**ng affects more teens than you think. Watch how one student takes the first step to get support and rise above the smoke.

This year, Communities In Schools of Georgia is supporting students across the state through the Rise Above the Smoke initiative, helping them quit va**ng and make healthier choices.

Inspiring future talent starts with real connections and this year’s Third Annual High-Demand Career Fair delivered exactly that.

Over 125 students explored pathways in engineering, construction, tech, healthcare, the arts, and more, meeting 10+ industry partners who showed them what’s possible beyond graduation.

From hands-on conversations to career insights, our AmeriCorps team helped guide students toward opportunities that match their strengths, interests, and goals.

This is how we build pathways to success one conversation, one connection, one student at a time.

đźš Rise Above the Smoke
Healthy futures start with healthy choices.

This Lung Cancer Awareness Month, CISGA is putting a spotlight on something that matters long before adulthood — how students cope. Stress, anxiety, pressure, loneliness… these are real, and they drive real decisions.

No student should face that alone. Our Site Coordinators show up every day to steady the ground beneath them — helping students build coping skills, manage overwhelming emotions, and choose paths that protect their health and their future. Friends, trusted adults, and trained coordinators are in their corner.

Together, we’re shaping tobacco-free schools, informed communities, and futures built on strength instead of stress.
