Homicide Investigation 100 Block of Perkins Avenue
On Saturday, August 22, 2026, at approximately 1518 hours, the McFarland Police Department received a report of a shooting in the 100 block of Perkins Avenue, at the Capri Laundromat. When Officers arrived, they found an adult male, 26 years old, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside the laundromat. Officers immediately provided medical aid and dispatched medical services for assistance.
After initiating CPR and lifesaving efforts, the victim was eventually pronounced deceased. Officers initiated a Homicide call out and McFarland Police Department Detectives assumed the homicide investigation. Preliminary information indicates that two unknown suspects arrived at the Capri Liquors in the 100 block of Perkins Avenue, and for unknown reasons, confronted the victim inside the Capri Laundromat, which is adjacent to the gas pumps. An argument ensued, and during the argument, one of the suspects produced a firearm and shot the victim multiple times. The two suspects then fled the area in an unknown vehicle.
Detectives are actively working on the scene and gathering investigative information to assist in the investigation. At this time, no suspects have been identified, the motive is unknown, and no arrests have been made. The victim’s identity will be released at a later time after notification of next of kin.
