McGaheysville Ruritans

McGaheysville Ruritans "Fellowship, Goodwill and Community Service." The McGaheysville Ruritan Club strives to make the McGaheysville community a better place to live and work.

We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Historic Town Hall in McGaheysville. Our Projects include upgrading the Town Hall's kitchen; making the bathroom handicapped accessible; building a ramp for wheelchair access; litter pick up on Island Ford Road; placeing flags on military graves at Mt. Olivet cemetery and many more. We donate money to college scholarships for high school

students in the 22840 zip code; elementary and middle schools; Boys and Girls club; Relay for Life; Bibles for military personnel; to name only a few. We have an annual Oyster dinner for McGaheysville area military personnel in November. All funds that we raise from the Funnel Cake sales during the Rockingham County Fair goes back to the community we serve.

We want to take a moment and give a huge THANK YOU to the McGaheysville Ruritan Club for funding our book machine!! Each year the McGaheysville Ruritans make sure our book machine is fully funded. We are so grateful for their generosity and support!! Our book machine allows us to give out Birthday Books for each student in our school on their birthday. The joy and excitement each Lion shows when choosing their book is incredible. Thank you McGaheysville Ruritan Club for making this possible each year!
