Lastnight members from the McGregor Fire Department attended a safety class put on by Mille Lacs Energy Cooperative. It was a great opportunity to learn about all of the hazards first responders face with power lines and other electrical equipment such as solar panels and generators. Topics ranged from grass fires ignited from down power lines to vehicle accidents involving power lines, transformers and even natural gas hazards. We can’t urge the public enough to please stay away from down power lines even if you think it’s not live. Always wait until you get the ok from a first responder or utility worker. Multiple Department from the area attended this free class. A big thank you to Mille Lacs Energy Cooperative for hosting a great class and providing a great meal.

🚒 HUGE shout out to the Aitkin Fire Department, McGregor Fire Department, and Palisade Fire Departments 🚒

Last night, while most of us were safely inside trying to stay warm, these incredible men and women were out in –30° temperatures battling a structure fire. They left their families, their warm homes, and their comfort behind to answer the call and protect our communities.

I cannot express how grateful and thankful I am for these public servants who show up without hesitation, no matter the conditions. Their commitment, courage, and passion for helping others—especially in cold that none of us want to be out in—does not go unnoticed.

Please help me give a special THANK YOU to these firefighters for their dedication and unwavering service to our communities. We are truly blessed to have you. ❤️👨‍🚒👩‍🚒

Thank you to all who came out to support the McGregor Fire Department during Wild Rice Days. We want to thank all of the volunteers who helped set up, organize and serve for this event. Thank you to all of the local businesses who helped make this such a success. The fire hall was packed and beer garden was busy. We had another successful raffle drawing this year giving out $20,500 in cash to our lucky winners. Thank you for supporting our efforts to keep the McGregor Fire Department operating with safe, reliable and efficient tools and equipment. These events really help us be able to keep our rescue equipment in good shape so we can better serve the public.
We look forward to doing this again next year.

McGregor Fire Department will have a beer garden set up this Saturday of Wild Rice Days from 10:00- 5:00 courtesy of Buckhorn Bar and Grill. We will also have an open house with brats served following the parade. The $10,000 cash raffle winners will also be drawn after the parade.
Come show your support, bring your kids to tour the fire trucks, have a great meal and ice cold beverage and enjoy the great Wild Rice Days in down town McGregor.

During tomorrow’s power outage, McGregor fire department will have their doors open with the backup generator running for any residence that need to come and cool off or charge up their devices or whatever is needed. Even if you want to just come and hang out and get a bottle of cold water, there will be members of the fire department there from 3 pm to 7 pm.

Big shoutout to Glen for helping with the last few steps on the new truck! We ran into a lot of road bumps but finally, in service, is the new to us 453. This truck has a top pumping station for better visibility along with a light tower on the roof to help with scene lighting. Backed with a big pump, 1,000 gallon water tank and tons of storage for tools.

As many of you may know McGregor fire department purchased a new Fire Truck. We ran into a few unforeseen road bumps on the drive back home. I wanted to give a special thanks to for helping with safe and secure storage in Lake Station, Indiana and another huge thanks to Tyler and Dean with Kivi Bros Trucking for taking the call over the weekend and lining up fast safe and secure trucking and then another big thank you to Wyatts Towing for Wyatt helping it make the last leg of its journey back to McGregor. All of the parts should be in and we are hoping to have the truck running again by this weekend
