๐Ÿš‘ Serious question for our small town friendsโ€ฆ

If someone passed out at the ball game, the bar, church, or the grocery storeโ€ฆ

๐Ÿ‘‰ Would you know what to do before the ambulance gets there?

Weโ€™re thinking about putting together a First Aid / CPR class for the community, but before we plan it out we want to see if anyone would actually comeโ€ฆ because nobody wants to host a class for three people and someoneโ€™s bored husband who got dragged along. ๐Ÿ˜†

The class would cover things like:
โœ”๏ธ CPR
โœ”๏ธ How to use an AED
โœ”๏ธ Basic first aid
โœ”๏ธ What to do in common emergencies

These are skills that could help you save a family member, friend, coworkerโ€ฆ or the guy who choked on a cheese curd at the bar.

So tell us ๐Ÿ‘‡

๐Ÿ‘ Interested
โค๏ธ Bring the class to town
๐Ÿ˜† I should probably learn this

Or just comment below if youโ€™d come!

If thereโ€™s enough interest, weโ€™ll get one scheduled. ๐Ÿš‘

The McGregor Area First Responders would like to extend a huge thank you to Members Cooperative Credit Union for their generous $500 donation toward the purchase of Hi-Viz jackets for our crew.

These jackets play an important role in keeping our responders visible and safe when working along busy roadways and highways. Every call we respond to has the potential to place our team close to traffic, and having proper safety gear helps reduce the risk of injury while we focus on helping those in need.

Support from community partners like Members Cooperative Credit Union helps ensure our responders have the equipment they need to serve the community safely and effectively. We are incredibly grateful for their continued support of local emergency services.

๐Ÿšจ A reminder to the public:
When you see emergency vehicles or responders on the side of the road, please slow down and move over whenever possible. A few seconds of caution from drivers can make a huge difference in keeping first responders, tow operators, and roadside workers safe.

Thank you again to Members Cooperative Credit Union for helping us protect the people who protect our community! ๐Ÿš‘๐Ÿ’›

The McGregor Area First Responders would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Round Lake Presbyterian Church for their generous $2,500 donation toward the purchase of another AED.

Because of the support of community partners like you, we are able to continue working toward our goal of equipping every responder with an AED. Having an AED immediately available can make a critical difference in cardiac emergencies, and this donation directly helps strengthen our ability to provide the best possible care when our community needs it most.

Your kindness and commitment to supporting local emergency services truly helps save lives. We are incredibly grateful for your generosity and for standing behind the people who serve this community.

Thank you, Round Lake Presbyterian Church, for helping us continue this mission! โค๏ธ๐Ÿš‘

Today members of our team will be out attending the township meetings in the areas we proudly serve. These meetings give us the opportunity to share what your support has helped make possible over the past year and how those funds are directly improving the care we are able to provide to our community.

Because of the incredible support we received last year, we have been able to continue strengthening our departmentโ€”purchasing life-saving equipment, improving responder safety, and working toward our goal of ensuring every responder has the tools they need when someone in our community calls for help.

Every call we respond to, every life we assist, and every family we support is possible because of the partnership we have with our townships and community members. Your continued support truly makes a difference.

If you are attending your township meeting today, please take a minute to stop by and say hello. We would love the chance to thank you in person, answer questions, and share how your support helps us continue serving our community safely and effectively.

We look forward to another year of protecting and caring for the communities we call home. ๐Ÿš‘๐Ÿ’™

The McGregor Area First Responders would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Minnewawa Sportsmans Club for their generous donation that fully covered the cost of two new AEDs for our department. โค๏ธ

Because of your support, we are able to continue strengthening our ability to provide the best possible care to our community during emergencies. These life-saving devices will be carried by responders in the field, ensuring they are immediately available when seconds matter most.

Our goal is simple but powerful: to equip every one of our responders with an AED so they always have one available when responding to any emergency. Donations like yours help turn that goal into reality.

Community partnerships like this truly make a difference, and we are incredibly grateful for organizations like the Minnewawa Sportsmans Club that continue to support the safety and wellbeing of our area.

Thank you for helping us help others. ๐Ÿš‘๐Ÿ’™

McGregor First Responders Monthly Training Update ๐Ÿš‘๐Ÿฉธโ„๏ธ

This monthโ€™s training focused on bleeding control, sharpening life-saving skills that make a critical difference in emergency situations. With winter conditions in mind, crews also added cold weather and ice rescue training, ensuring readiness for emergencies on frozen lakes and icy terrain.

Ongoing training keeps our first responders prepared to serve and protect our communityโ€”no matter the season. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿšจ

๐Ÿšจ Cold Weather Safety Reminder ๐Ÿšจ

With these bitter cold temps, please take a few minutes to check your furnace exhaust and intake pipes. Snow and ice can easily block them, causing carbon monoxide to back up into your home โ€” a serious, silent, and potentially deadly risk.

โœ”๏ธ Make sure exhaust pipes are clear of snow and ice
โœ”๏ธ Change the batteries in your carbon monoxide and smoke detectors
โœ”๏ธ If your CO alarm goes off, get outside and call for help immediately
โœ”๏ธ Check in on your neighbors โ€” especially the elderly or those who live alone

It only takes a moment, but it could save a life. Letโ€™s look out for our homes and for each other. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ

A Heartfelt Thank You from the McGregor Area First Responders

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who came out and supported our Pancake Breakfast โ€” the turnout was more than we could have ever imagined, and it truly filled our hearts.

A special thank you to the City of McGregor for generously donating the use of the community center, to Krusteaz for supplying the pancake mix that kept the griddles going, to Riverwood Healthcare for an incredible donation of food items, and to McGregor Print Pros for providing matching shirts that made our crew stand out and feel united.

As we continue building and growing, we are constantly reminded that we are not alone โ€” we are backed by an incredible community. Your support fuels our mission, and we could not do what we do without you.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in us and standing beside us.

Thanks to their support, weโ€™ll be matching and easy to spot at our event on Sunday, June 22nd โ€” helping us stay organized and stand out as a team.
