🚑💙 **A little exciting news from McGregor Area First Responders!**

We are always looking for ways to grow, improve, and make it easier for our community to support what we do — so we are excited to share that we can now accept donations through **PayPal AND Venmo!** 🎉📲

Because apparently even First Responders have to keep up with the times. 😉😂

We’ll have these new donation options available with us this **Saturday, August 15th at the Shamrock Shindig!**

But more importantly — **come see us!** 👋

Stop by our table, meet some of our responders, learn a little more about what we do, and ask us any questions you may have about our organization.

❤️ **We also plan to have CPR demonstrations throughout the day!** Come give it a try and learn what YOU can do if you ever find yourself faced with an emergency. You never know when knowing the basics of CPR could make a difference for someone you love — or even a complete stranger.

We love having opportunities like this to connect with the people in the communities we serve and share a little more about who we are and what we do.

Of course, donations are always appreciated and help us continue purchasing equipment, supplies, and training for our responders — but you certainly don’t have to donate to stop by and say hello, ask questions, or try your hand at CPR! 💙

We’re excited to have another way for our community to support us when they choose to, and even more excited to spend Saturday at the **Shamrock Shindig!**

🚑 **Come find McGregor Area First Responders and say hi — and come give CPR a try!** ❤️

Some people leave a lasting impact without ever asking for recognition.

Long before the McGregor Area First Responders became the organization it is today, there was someone we could always count on.

When we were part of the McGregor Ambulance Service, he never hesitated to answer when we needed help. Whether it meant helping lift a patient, driving the ambulance, sharing his experience, or simply showing up when an extra set of hands was needed, he was there. Not because he had to—but because that's who he is.

When our organization transitioned into the McGregor Area First Responders, he continued to stand beside us. He shared his knowledge, offered guidance, answered questions, and helped us navigate unfamiliar territory so we could grow into the organization we are today. His willingness to help played a part in the success we've had, and for that, we are incredibly grateful.

Now it's our turn to answer the call.

We're asking our community to rally around someone who has spent years putting others first. Someone who has never hesitated to help when the call came in.

If you would like to support him and his family, there are several ways you can help:

❤️ **Benefit page:**

❤️ **If you're not local but would still like to help, donations can be made through the GoFundMe:**

❤️ **Contact any member of the McGregor Area First Responders** if you would like to donate or contribute a raffle item.

Whether you donate, contribute to the benefit, share this post, or simply keep him and his family in your prayers, every act of kindness matters.

Emergency response has always been about neighbors helping neighbors. It's about showing up on someone's worst day without expecting anything in return. He has done that for so many people over the years.

Today, we're asking our community to do the same for him.

Thank you for helping us support someone who has spent so much of his life supporting others.

Please continue to keep him, his family, and everyone walking this journey with them in your thoughts and prayers. ❤️

**Because the people who answer the call deserve to know that, when they need us, we'll answer theirs.**

The tones drop.

No coffee.
No time to wake up.
Just get dressed, jump in the vehicle, and go.

You answer the call, do what needs to be done, and then head home.

Kiss your kids.
Hug your spouse.
Walk into a family gathering, a birthday party, the grocery store, or wherever the rest of your day takes you.

Just like that, you’re expected to resume normal life as if the last hour never happened.

That’s the life of a first responder.

We step into people’s worst moments, do everything we can to help, and then quietly slip back into our own lives. No pause. No reset button. Just back to reality.

We don’t do it for recognition. We do it because someone needs us.

So today, if you know a first responder, remember that behind the uniform is a person carrying things you’ll probably never see. And to my fellow responders—thank you for continuing to show up for your communities and then going home to show up for your families, too. ❤️

🚨 **PSA from your McGregor Area First Responders** 🚨

If you haven't heard or noticed... the very large wildfires in northern Minnesota have decided to share all of their smoke with us.

**How generous of them.** 🌫️🙃

The good news? **The smoke itself isn't an emergency.** You don't need to call 911 just because everything looks hazy or smells like one giant campfire.

🚨 **However... if you're having trouble breathing, experiencing chest pain, severe coughing, dizziness, or any other medical emergency, don't hesitate—CALL 911.** Smoke can be especially dangerous for those with asthma, COPD, heart disease, young children, older adults, and others with respiratory conditions.

A few simple ways to protect yourself:
💨 Limit strenuous outdoor activities if possible.
💧 Stay hydrated.
🏠 Spend more time indoors if the smoke is bothering you.

Now... **if you look outside and see actual flames instead of just smoke... definitely CALL 911.** 😳🔥

Stay safe, take care of yourselves, and hopefully Mother Nature decides to stop sharing her smoky air with us soon. ❤️🚑

🎡☀️ **The Aitkin County Fair is HERE!!** ☀️🎡

We will be out at the fair **TODAY** and can't wait to meet and greet all of you! 👋❤️ Of course, we'll also be there and ready to provide assistance should anyone experience a medical emergency. 🚑

But friends… **it's going to be HOT!** 🥵

Before you head out for a day of fair food, animals, rides, and fun, please remember to **put on your sunscreen and bring LOTS of water!** 💦☀️

We will have some water available as well, but please do everything you can to protect yourself and your family from the heat.

Stay hydrated. Take breaks. Find some shade. And keep an eye on those kiddos and older loved ones. ❤️

Most importantly… **HAVE A GREAT DAY AT THE FAIR!** 🎡🐄🍦

Stop by and say HI if you see us! 👋🚑❤️

🥞❤️ What an incredible day! ❤️🥞

We are feeling truly grateful for the amazing community that continues to support us and our mission.

Our Pancake Breakfast was a wonderful success, and seeing so many familiar faces come together to share a meal, connect with neighbors, and support local first responders was incredibly meaningful. Every person who attended, donated, volunteered, or simply helped spread the word played a part in making this event possible.

A very special thank you goes out to the City of McGregor for allowing us to use the Community Center at no cost. Their support helps make events like this possible and allows us to focus our resources on serving our community.

As we reflect on the turnout and the encouragement we received, we are excited for what the future holds. We hope to continue growing these events, welcoming even more community members, and strengthening the connections that make our area such a special place to live.

Together, we are building something bigger than a fundraiser—we are building a stronger, safer, and more connected community.

From all of us, thank you for your support, your kindness, and your belief in what we are doing. We couldn’t do it without you. ❤️

Today was one of those days that reminds me just how incredible our community truly is.

We hosted our Community CPR & First Aid Class, and seeing people of all ages take time out of their day to learn lifesaving skills was inspiring. Every person who attended is helping make our community safer, stronger, and more prepared to help a neighbor in need.

I couldn’t be more proud of what we’re building together.

A huge thank you to the Minnewawa Sportsman’s Club for generously donating the use of their building, making this event possible.

Thank you to the Lions Club for covering the cost of the class so community members could attend free of charge.

And thank you to Subway for working with us to provide lunch for our participants.

When local organizations, businesses, and community members come together like this, amazing things happen. Today wasn’t just about CPR and First Aid—it was about neighbors helping neighbors and investing in the well-being of our community.

Together, we keep getting stronger. ❤️🚑💙
