Hi all,
If you haven't heard, the Alderman of McHenry failed at their job. Many of us asked for their help. We asked them to help the Oaks and defeat Continental's request to build 288 apartments. Instead they decided to put a "Gold Star" on Cody Sheriff's resume. They approved the apartment complex.. For some unknown reason Cody, Ross Polerecky and Wayne Jett pushed this project. Continental came in with over inflated numbers that the city council fell for. It will be impossible for the city of McHenry to ever realize ANY benefit from this complex. Maybe the 3 real estate agents on the city council will benefit from this. This is just the start of the downfall of McHenry's open land. Those of us that moved here to get away from congestion will now have to deal with it here. I can only say the Alderman of McHenry have no idea what their true job is. For those of you who question that statement, look up what an Alderman is supposed to do. In closing, for the 5 Alderman that voted in favor of the 288 unit apartment complex, you failed at your job and should resign. You are an embarrassment to the title of Alderman.

Happy Mothers Day to all our Moms out there!!

May 19, 2021, mark the date on your calendar. That is the day the zoning committee, via Zoom, gets to listen to the Snake oil salesman from Continental. We all will get a chance to make comments, ask questions of the city zoning committee(which 4 are brand new) and the petitioner. NO TIME LIMIT. Just do not repeat yourself. Be professional and NO profanity. Any questions let us know. The more of us that speak the better. Anyone that wants to be heard will be asked to stand up as a group and swear to tell the truth(which we know will not be the case of the Snake oil salesmen).

Happy Monday Everyone. If you know anyone living in McHenry Shores here is something you might want to share with them. Looks like they might be in for the same disrespect the families of the Oaks are dealing with. Rumour on the street has it that a developer that was turned away a few years ago is coming back. This developer wants to cram 40 apartment buildings into a small piece of land near their subdivision. Again, this is something that was heard on the streets of McHenry. Also, I encourage everyone to email Continental Properties and let them know they are NOT wanted here behind Aldi. Putting a massive apartment complex next to single families homes is against current city zoning. It is completely disrespectful to the current residents. We need as many people as possible to let Continental know they are NOT welcome here. REMEMBER, be professional and NO profanity!!!

Just a reminder that tonight, Monday, April 19, 2021 @ 7:00pm there is another McHenry City Council meeting. This is your chance to make comments on the proposed apartment complex or anything else for that matter. At the beginning of the meeting, there is a public comments portion of the meeting. It is a comments-only section. Most likely you won't get any questions answered. Although you never know, maybe someone might answer your question. If you are having a bad hair day and don't want to be on camera, that is alright. Leave your camera off and please share your comment(s). PLEASE remember to be professional, NO profanity!! Good Morning All,
For those of you that did not have the opportunity to attend the McHenry City Council meeting via Zoom last night, you missed an interesting meeting. I recommend you check for the Youtube video on the City of McHenry website. As of this post, it is not available yet. The meeting is long, watch the Non-agenda public comments section at the beginning as well as the city council comments section at the end. You can make your own opinion.

Inland Real Estate Commercial Brokerage Inc. said it aided in the sale of two residential investment properties, including a 60-acre site in McHenry and an apartment building in Naperville. Terms of the two deals were not disclosed.

Are you looking forward to more traffic on the Route 31 corridor? Do you enjoy paying high taxes? Do you like paying other peoples bills? Do you like seeing the school classrooms overcrowded? Do you like seeing outside companies come into our town, McHenry, and ask for free handouts? If you answered "No" to these questions here is your opportunity to share your thoughts with our elected officials. The same officials we as residents elected. The ones that are supposed to back the residents, not a slick talking outside salesman. McHenry was taken to the cleaners by a large cellular phone manufacturer many years ago. The company promised wealth to pour into McHenry. McHenry gave this company a lot of tax breaks to build here and manufacture products here. Guess what, it didn't happen. The contractor proposing to build 288 apartment units is asking for major concessions. The numbers they propose in sales revenue are over inflated. Their original proposal is posted in this group. Take a look at it. This Monday, March 15, 2021 the McHenry City Council is having a Zoom meeting at 6:00pm. It is open to the general public.
