Last Friday, Board of Trustees President Allen Miller swore in our new Deputy Chief, Paul Polep.

This appointment is especially meaningful, as he is no stranger to our organization. Having served here years ago, Paul returns to take on this important leadership role, bringing valuable experience, dedication, and a deep understanding of our mission and community.

Yesterday, MTFPD hosted a gathering for retirees to enjoy food, reconnect with fellow retirees, and hear updates from the department. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces sharing stories and memories.

This event is a special opportunity to thank those who dedicated their careers to serving and protecting our community. MTFPD is proud to honor their contributions and continued connection to the district! THANK YOU RETIREES!

On Thursday, June 18th, Deputy Chief Steve Spraker will be promoted to Fire Chief of the McHenry Township Fire Protection District!

This Thursday, the McHenry Township Fire Protection District will host Life After the Call — a FREE wellness seminar designed specifically for First Responders and their significant others.

This important event focuses on understanding the unique stressors of the profession, improving communication, strengthening support systems, and promoting long-term wellness for both responders and their families.

• Understanding the Biological Response to Stress
• Communication Styles: In and Out of Crisis
• Recognizing Stress Early & Creating a Shared Wellness Plan
• Strengthening the Family System
• Peer Support & Community Connection
