𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐝 1 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 - you should have received a postcard recently asking for input on McHenry’s new Unified Development Ordinance (UDO), and I wanted to encourage you to participate.

A UDO is basically the set of rules that helps guide how our city grows and develops over time — things like housing, businesses, redevelopment, signage, parking, landscaping, and overall community appearance. In short: it helps shape what McHenry looks and feels like in the future.

This is a chance for residents to share opinions on things like:

🏠 Housing and neighborhood character
🏢 Business growth and redevelopment
🚗 Traffic, parking, and walkability
🌳 Parks, green space, and community appearance
📍 What you’d like to see more of (or less of) as McHenry grows

I know topics like this can sound technical or easy to ignore, but these decisions can impact our community for years to come. If you have thoughts about growth, preserving what makes McHenry special, supporting local business, or improving quality of life — this is an opportunity to be heard.
