Just wrapped up a brush fire, been a few this weekend. Please read the following regarding tomorrow’s weather and fire issues. Thank you.

🔥 Do not burn anything Sunday and please avoid activities that may spark fires. Strong north winds gusting up to 40 mph and very low humidity behind tonight’s cold front will make for dangerous fire weather conditions that could allow for fires to quickly get out of control and spread rapidly. Elevated fire risk Thursday, Mar 20, 2025:

A red flag warning has been issued for Thursday due to a combination of factors that will contribute to hazardous fire conditions. Shifting gusty winds, low afternoon humidity, and ongoing fire activity will create an elevated risk for fire outbreaks. We strongly advise against any burning activities during this time.

Our hearts go out to their families and their first responder families. It is a great loss within our community.

UMMC Center Vice Chancellor LouAnn Woodward stated in a press conference Monday that the pilot was an employee of the Denton, Texas-based company, while the other two on board were UMMC employees.

Working to clean apparatus and put hoses back in working order. Stone Co Fire and Wiggins Fire responded tonight to a fully involved structure fire on West Lake Road this evening. Possibly started from a space heater.

South Central Fire District's yearly fundraiser is scheduling visits NOW!! Santa and one of our firefighters will bring a fire truck to your home with candy canes for the littles! Our calendar will be filling up quickly so make sure to message us here on the page and save your date and time.
We do ask that donations be $25 or greater. Your donations will go towards our next year's operational costs and equipment but the memories will last forever!
