Attention McIntosh residents, household garbage was found at the city's yard waste dump site this morning. This serves as a reminder that the site is designated for yard waste only and for McIntosh city residents exclusively. Please note that we share the site with the Department of Natural Resources and continued disposal of household garbage may result in the site being shut down by the state. Thank you.

City of McIntosh Clean Up Week
April 24th thru May 4th

The City of McIntosh Council would like to promote a clean and healthy community by designating April 24th through the 4th of May as CITY OF MCINTOSH CLEAN UP WEEK. Property owners within city limits may bring items to the lift station site on 1st St SE (area south of the baseball field). Please throw items in the proper bins. This service is free of charge, but donations would be greatly appreciated to help defray costs.

Be prepared to show proof you own property or reside within the city limits of McIntosh. Having a McIntosh mailing address does not necessarily mean you live within city limits. This service is provided solely to MCINTOSH CITY TAXPAYERS. If you are unsure, please call the city clerk’s office: 218.563.3043.

Pick-up service is available for those unable to bring in their own items. Items must be piled near the street no later than 8a.m. on May 1st. If further help is needed with removing items from property, please call the city office and help will be scheduled. If interested in volunteering to pick up items and/or use of your truck and/or trailer, please call the City Office.

With winter upon us, snow removal challenges increase. While the City makes every effort to clear streets and alleys quickly, we kindly ask for your patience during heavy snowfall events. Nevertheless, it is not the snow-covered streets that have people most upset, but the blocked driveways that lead to calls and complaints. A frequent question is why Public Works can’t raise the blade at driveway entrances. The reason is twofold: our equipment needs consistent speed to efficiently clear streets, and prioritizing driveway clearance with our limited staff would significantly delay the overall snow removal process.
Please note that residents and businesses are required to keep snow and ice off of sidewalks along their property as well as clearing a path to fire hydrants near their residence.
Thank you!

Good morning, McIntosh,

Mosquito spraying is scheduled for Wednesday or Thursday this week - weather pending. The spray application takes care of the mosquitoes in the air, but not the larvae, so please check your yard and empty anything that has standing water.
Not so fun fact: mosquitoes only need a bottle cap full of water to lay up to 300 eggs. 😳🦟.

McIntosh residents,
There is the possibility of mosquito spraying taking place tonight or tomorrow evening, pending favorable weather conditions. The company we partner with for spray application experienced severe damage during the June 20th storm and is now getting back to normal operations. Thank you!
