We've decided, it's time to officially shine a light on the great instruction happening throughout the school. Our first group to receive this recognition is our ELA department.... Shout out to Mr. Torrance, Ms. Johnson, Mrs. Long and Mr. Houssel. During our recent ILT walkthrough, these teachers demonstrated strong instructional practices with a clear focus on student engagement. Students were actively participating in learning, interacting with content, and using strategies designed to deepen their understanding of academic and content-related vocabulary.
Thank you for your commitment to our students and for continuing to raise the bar for instructional excellence.

💦🎉 Our End of Summer Splash Bash Was a SUCCESS! 🎉💦

What a wonderful evening with our Warrior families! 💙💛 Our End of Summer Splash Bash & Annual Title I Parent Meeting was filled with fun, fellowship, learning, and plenty of smiles!

A huge THANK YOU to all of our parents, students, staff, community partners, and everyone who came out and helped make this event such a wonderful success. Your support and involvement truly make a difference in our school community.

From exciting activities and giveaways to spending quality time together as a Warrior family, it was an evening to remember!

We are grateful for everyone who joined us, and we look forward to many more opportunities to bring our students, families, school, and community together.

During classroom observations, Dr. Paulk, Dr. Butts, and Mr. Hussey had the pleasure of stopping by Mrs. Sanders and Coach Hopkins’ classroom! 💙💛

Students were actively engaged in a hands-on laboratory experience exploring enzyme activity. 🧪🥔 During the lab, students investigated how catalase, an enzyme found in potatoes, breaks down hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen while observing how factors such as temperature, pH, and substrate concentration affect its activity.

Through this lab, our Warriors were able to take concepts beyond the textbook and put their learning into action through observation, experimentation, and discovery!

It's time for our Annual Title I Parent Meeting for the 2026-2027 school year!
This meeting will inform parents and stakeholders about the functions of Title I and its programs and services at our school. This year, our theme, "End of Summer Splash Bash", will feature fun, interactive STEM activities for the whole family, led by Mercer University! Parents' and students' names will be entered in a drawing for prizes throughout the evening; refreshments will be served upon entering, AND Kona Ice will be on campus for purchase! 🌟🎉

Still need help with your beginning-of-the-year electronic forms? We'll be happy to help with that, too!💻

Additionally, representatives from Communities in Schools, the Warrior Wellness Center, and the 21st Century Afterschool Program will be on-site with vital information for all of our families!

This morning, we had a sweet reminder for our Warrior families as we continue counting down to the End-of-Summer Splash Bash & Annual Title I Parent Meeting! 💙💛

We’re excited to welcome our WCHS parents and students this Thursday, August 27, from 5:30–7:00 PM for an evening filled with food, fun, STEM activities, giveaways, school information, and more!

WCHS parents will also have the opportunity to enter for a chance to win a Football or Basketball Season Pass! 🎟️🏈🏀

Sometimes students notice warning signs before adults do. Knowing what to look for can make a difference.

A concerning social media post. A threat. Bullying or harassment. Someone talking about hurting themselves or someone else. Or simply a situation that doesn’t feel right.

Through Sandy Hook Promise’s Say Something program, students learn three important steps: recognize the warning signs, take them seriously, and say something.

Speaking up isn’t about getting someone in trouble. It’s about getting someone help. 💛

History and government aren't always boring topics of study here! In Mr. French's class, students are working in groups, gearing up for an upcoming presentation. Some chose posters; others chose song lyrics to analyze the impact of Hobbes, Locke, Rousseau, and Montesquieu.

Meanwhile, students in Mrs. Johnson's class are working hard to create their own info brochures for the Mauryan or Gupta Empire. We can't wait to see the final results of both activities. Happy Friday!
