**Public Intoxication, possession of ma*****na, terroristic threatening arrest**

Jackson County Sheriff Daniel Isaacs is reporting that on Thursday October 10th, 2024 at approximately 8:19pm Jackson County Deputy Sheriff Andrew Brewer arrested Beatrice Howell of McKee, KY. The arrest occurred on L Russel Road approximately 12 miles north of McKee after Deputy Brewer was dispatched to the area on a complaint regarding Howell yelling at an individual. Upon arriving to the area Deputy Brewer located Howell on her porch and invited him to come into the residence. Upon entering the residence Deputy Brewer was given, without having been prompted to do so, two THC v**e cartridges by Howell. Further speaking with Howell led Deputy Brewer to determine that she was manifestly under the influence of a controlled substance as Howell could not speak in a coherent manner, nor control her bodily movements. While in transit to the Jackson County Detention Center, Howell stated to Deputy Brewer that she would be making phone calls to individuals to plan on assault on Deputy Brewer.

Beatrice Howell was transported to and lodged in the Jackson County Detention Center on the charges of Public Intoxication-Controlled Substance, Possession of Ma*****na, and Terroristic Threatening 3rd Degree.

Over the next 24-48 hours several counties across Kentucky are scheduled to receive heavy amounts of rain and extremely strong winds extended from Hurricane Helena. Jackson County is one of these included counties.

We have already received several reports of trees down across various areas of the county. We encourage the public to be weather aware should you travel throughout this time, and as always stay safe.

4 inches of rain and 60-70mph(+) winds are quite possible during this time, but the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is still on patrol and answering calls for service.

Our best wishes and prayers go out to the state of Florida and all responders/utility workers that are impacted by this storm.
