* ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, FELON IN POSSESSION OF FIREARM, and PUBLIC INTOXICATION ARREST *

Jackson County Sheriff Daniel Isaacs is reporting to the public that on Saturday June 13th, 2026 at approximately 1am Jackson County Deputy Sheriff Andrew Brewer arrested Robert Tipton (address undetermined.)

The arrest occurred along Hiram Smith Road approximately 5 miles east of McKee following a call for service reporting an attempted burglary of a residence.

Deputy Brewer arrived on scene and made a contact with all parties involved, including Tipton. Throughout the course of this investigation information was reported to Deputy Brewer indicating that Tipton had attempted to force his way into a residence via the front door. Throughout the contact with Tipton he was determined to be manifestly under the influence of a controlled substance.

Further investigation led to the discovery of a rifle located in Tipton’s vehicle with a records check revealing that Tipton was a convicted felon.

Robert Tipton was transported to and lodged in the Jackson County Detention Center on the charges of: Burglary 1st Degree (attempt) Public Intoxication (controlled substance), and Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon.

*DUI, LEAVING SCENE OF ACCIDENT ARREST*

Jackson County Sheriff Daniel Isaacs is reporting to the public that on Sunday June 7th, 2026 at approximately 5:09am Jackson County Deputy Sheriff Andrew Brewer arrested Joshua Sampson of McKee, KY.

The arrest occurred along KY290 approximately 5 miles south of McKee following a call for service regarding a single unit motor vehicle collision with property damage. Deputy Brewer responded to the area, and located a vehicle which throughout investigation was determined to be registered to Sampson. While conducting a survey of the scene Deputy Brewer also located an empty bottle of Buprenorphine that had Sampson name on it.

Factoring in the information Deputy Brewer had received at this point, he responded to the residence of Sampson. There, a contact was made where impairment was suspected and Standardized Field Sobriety Test’s were conducted. As a result of these tests, narcotic impairment was determined and Sampson was placed under arrest.

Joshua Sampson was transported to and lodged in the Jackson County Detention Center on the charges of: Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Substances, and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.

*PUBLIC INTOXICATION, DISORDERLY CONDUCT ARREST*

Jackson County Sheriff Daniel Isaacs is reporting to the public that on Saturday June 6th, 2026 at approximately 10:20am Jackson County Deputy Sheriff Chris Baldwin arrested Virgil Sparks of McKee, KY.

The arrest occurred at the intersection of Pilgrims Rest Road and Turkeyfoot Road approximately 3 miles north of McKee following a call for service involving Sparks exhibiting signs of narcotic impairment and causing a disturbance with residents of the area.

Units arrived in the area and located Sparks. An investigation was conducted where narcotics were suspected, and Sparks was taken into custody.

Virgil Sparks was transported to and lodged in the Jackson County Detention Center on the charges of: Public Intoxication (controlled substance) and Disorderly Conduct 2nd Degree.

Deputy Baldwin was assisted at the scene by City of McKee Police Officer Troy Truett.

*PUBLIC INTOXICATION ARREST*

Jackson County Sheriff Daniel Isaacs is reporting to the public that on Friday May 29th, 2026 at approximately 3:33pm Jackson County Deputy Sheriff Chris Baldwin arrested Regina Smith of Morehead, KY.

The arrest occurred along Cornett Chapel Road approximately 13 miles southwest of McKee following a call for service alleging that female was observed on the roadway in the area seemingly exhibiting signs of narcotic impairment.

Deputy Baldwin arrived in the area and made contact with the female reported, later determined to be Smith. An investigation was conducted and as a result Regina Smith was determined to be manifestly under the influence of a controlled substance and was taken into custody.

Regina Smith was transported to and lodged in the Jackson County Detention Center on the charge of: Public Intoxication (controlled substance.)

This is a testament to the incredible responders that Jackson County is blessed to have.

Every single fireman that was on this scene were volunteers, not paid. Hours upon hours of searching for those in need, rendering help when needed- all because it’s the right thing to do.

Those EMS staff that were prepared and able to step in when needed.

Fantastic job by all involved, Fire and EMS alike. We could not survive without those good hearted people we have surrounding us.

*PUBLIC INTOXICATION, RESISTING ARREST*

Jackson County Sheriff Daniel Isaacs is reporting to the public that on Friday May 15th, 2026 at approximately 2:54pm Jackson County Deputy Sheriff Chris Baldwin arrested Zackary Paul of McKee, KY.

The arrest occurred along US421 North approximately 3 miles north of McKee following a call for service alleging that Paul had been standing in the lane of traffic adjacent to Birch Lick Baptist Church blocking travel and throwing rocks at vehicles.

Upon arriving in the area units made a contact with Paul and were met with resistance immediately. Paul was eventually subdued and placed under arrest.

Throughout the course of the investigation Paul was determined to be manifestly under the influence of a controlled substance other than alcohol, in addition to Paul having claimed he was going to kill every law enforcement officer on scene.

Zackary Paul was transported to and lodged in the Jackson County Detention Center on the charges of: Disorderly Conduct 2nd Degree, Public Intoxication (controlled substance), Menacing, Resisting Arrest, and Terroristic Threatening 3rd Degree.

Deputy Baldwin was assisted at the scene by City of McKee Police Officer Troy Truett and Kentucky State Police Post 7 Trooper Starlin Hacker.
