The "Kennedy Township Independent Volunteer Fire Company", Allegheny County PA Station 181 was founded in June 1937. Originally to offer fire suppression for the township of Kennedy and to assist the surrounding areas of fires. Today, we offer fire suppression, fire protection, rescue, and medical response. After the years of growing, the station is now located on Pine Hollow Road. The company ope

rates out of 1 House, with a Brush Truck, a Utility/Squad that is QRS Certified, a Light 4x4 Rescue Truck that is also QRS Certified, a Rescue Pumper, an Engine and a Telesquirt that is soon to be replaced with a 70 + foot Quint in the fall of 2014. The company has roughly 30 members under the authority of a Chief, an Assistant Chief, 1 Captain, 2 Lieutenants, a chief Engineer with an assistant and 1 Safety Officer. As of 2009, the Company became QRS Certified, which means the company now runs medical calls with the responding ambulance. A firefighter and an EMT (Or higher) will respond on these calls to assist EMS or to begin care before the ambulance's arrival. This page is set up to help get the word out about upcoming events for the company as well as general community information as to warn others in the town and other areas of emergencies such as fire, traffic, weather, or other forms of emergency within Kennedy Township.
