Since 2002, NorthWest EMS has been committed to providing the highest level of emergency medical care and transportation possible. As one of Allegheny County's largest EMS agencies, we have five ambulance stations strategically located in McKees Rocks Borough, Ben Avon Borough, Crafton Borough, North Fayette Township, and Findlay Township serving fifteen communities in southwestern Pennsylvania. Our team of almost 100 EMTs, AEMTs, Paramedics, PHRNs and support staff; along with our fleet of eight Advanced Life Support ambulances, two Advanced Life Support response vehicles, and other specialty resource vehicles, help us to lead the way in technology and superior service while maintaining our complete dedication to all of our communities and facilities. Our mission is to set the standard in pre-hospital emergency services both in patient care and customer satisfaction. This affiliation creates new opportunities to strengthen collaboration with our hospital partners and fellow EMS agencies across the region, all with one shared goal: delivering the best possible care for all of our patients.

Northwest EMS would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Sergeant Todd Heufelder, as well as everyone at the North Fayette Township Police Department.

Countless members of our team at NorthWest EMS had the privilege of working alongside him on emergency calls over the years, and he consistently demonstrated the qualities that earned the respect and admiration of all who knew him.

His commitment to public service and the positive impact he made on our patients, our providers, and our community will not be forgotten.

With profound sadness, the North Fayette Police Department announces the unexpected passing of Sergeant Todd Heufelder. Sergeant Heufelder was a distinguished and dedicated employee who faithfully served this department and our community for 30 years. During his career, Sergeant Heufelder served as a Patrol Supervisor and created the department’s K9 program. During his tenure, Sergeant Heufelder demonstrated exceptional commitment, professionalism, and devotion to duty.

We are deeply saddened by this loss, and our prayers are with Sergeant Heufelder’ s family, friends, colleagues, and all those whose lives he touched. His service, dedication, and legacy will not be forgotten.
