Erwin Park is undergoing a major renovation that will transform one of McKinney's most popular parks with new amenities, improved accessibility and upgraded facilities. To allow construction to proceed safely and efficiently, the park will close Aug. 10.

When the project is complete, visitors will enjoy:
•new overlook tower
•new restrooms, pavilions
•updated playground equipment
•ADA accessibility improvements
•concrete inner-loop trail
•resurfaced roads and parking lots
•water and electrical service at campsites

We appreciate the community's patience as we make these improvements to one of McKinney's most popular parks.

The park is expected to reopen in fall 2027, barring unforeseen construction delays. Project updates will be posted at McKinneyParks.org/Projects.

Happy July 4th! Celebrate Independence Day at Red, White, and BOOM!

Start the day at 10 a.m. in Historic Downtown McKinney with a hometown parade followed by a block party until 2 p.m.

Then continue at Towne Lake Park from 6 to 10 p.m. with family-friendly activities, food trucks, a spectacular drone show, and a professional fireworks finale.

Please note there is no on-site parking at Towne Lake Park; attendees can park at McKinney Senior Center, Collin County Appraisal District, One Community Church, McKinney Bible Church, or Milestone Church. No parking is permitted at McKinney High School. Shuttle service is available only from Al Ruschhaupt Soccer Complex 1 and First Baptist Church.
