Want economic development experience that actually goes on your resume?
We are hiring an intern, and this is not a coffee-run role.
From day one you're a contributing member of the team, working on real projects tied to your interests and career goals. The internship wraps with a final project you'll present, something that contributes to both McKinney and your own growth.
If you land with MEDC, you could work across:
Research, data analysis, and program development
Business retention, recruitment, and workforce development
Marketing and events
Cross-team support on the priorities driving McKinney's growth
Who we're looking for:
Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program
Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
Comfortable in Excel and data tools
Self-motivated and able to juggle multiple tasks
Genuinely curious about economic development, local government, or workforce
Bonus: the City of McKinney was named to the Top Workplaces USA list by USA TODAY. You'd be joining a team guided by four values, Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence.
If this posting doesn't fit you, but you know of a student that would love this, share this post with them.
