PHI Air Medical McKinney Phi Med 2 is an EMS Helicopter based in McKinney Texas. Phi Med 2 is an Emergency Medical Helicopter based in McKinney Texas at Collin County Regional Airport.

Phi Med 2 is ready to respond 24/7 for scenes and interfacility requests with a Flight Nurse, Flight Paramedic and EMS Pilot. Phi Med 2 is operated by Phi Air Medical, one of the largest and most respected helicopter operators in the world. Phi Air Medical was the first winner of American Eurocopter's Vision Zero Safety Award for developing the Enhanced Operations Control (EOC) system. The EOC sys

tem aids Phi Pilots in ensuring safe flying conditions for our patients and crews. This system has now been adopted by the FAA as a Best Practice for EMS helicopters throughout the United States. Phi Air Medical was also the first EMS Helicopter service, of its size, to outfit 100% of its helicopters with Night Vision Goggle technology. Phi Med 2 also has the honor of flying our most precious citizens; new born babies and children. The North Texas Hospital for Children at Medical City Dallas utilizes a dedicated Phi Air Medical helicopter to transport their most critical patients. We have been privileged to witness the incredible nursing skills provided by their team for many years. In 2011, Medical City Dallas also started a High Risk Obstetrics Transport Team. Their goal is to get the baby to Medical City prior to birth. They also do a fantastic job taking care of moms!

Medical City Plano is using advanced ECMO technology to give cardiac arrest patients a second chance at life, becoming the only mobile ECMO-CPR center in North Texas. The lifesaving program can dramatically improve survival rates for patients whose hearts stop beating.

ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) is an advanced life support therapy that temporarily takes over the function of the heart and lungs for critically ill patients.

Together with Medical City North Texas, Med 2 has completed more than 250 ECMO transports since mid–late 2020—delivering this life-saving care when it matters most.

We’re excited to partner with Melissa Fire Department and Medical City Plano to better serve our community and expand access to life-changing ECPR cardiac care.
