Congratulations Rohit Joy - the Collin County Dixie Clem Young Republican of the Year for 2025!
The Dixie Clem Young Republican of the Year Award is presented annually to an active Republican under the age of 40 who has gone above and beyond in service to the Republican Party. Dixie Clem was a lifelong Republican volunteer who was instrumental in turning Collin County from blue to solid red. She knew the key roll the younger generation played in the vitality of our Party and she encouraged and mentored countless young GOP leaders. In her honor, the Dixie Clem Award was established and has been presented to young Republican leaders since 1995.
This year, our committee of past recipients was unanimous in its decision.
Our recipient has truly exemplified what it means to be a dedicated volunteer, committing nearly 18 years of service to the Republican Party and the Young Republican organization at the local, state, and national levels.
His Young Republican journey began in his early twenties as a member of Young Republican clubs in the Bay Area of California. From there, his leadership quickly emerged. He was elected multiple times to the California Young Republican State Board, serving as Secretary, Treasurer, and National Committeeman, and was appointed Chairman of the Bylaws Committee for the Young Republican National Federation.
He also served as Chairman of the Contra Costa County Republican Party from 2015 to 2016 and represented CD11 as an alternate delegate to the 2016 Republican National Convention.
After relocating to Texas in 2018, his commitment never skipped a beat. He briefly joined the Dallas Young Republicans before settling in Collin County, where he immediately became active in the Collin County Young Republicans and the Collin County GOP, serving as a precinct chair.
Since late 2018, he has continuously served on the board of the Collin County Young Republicans in elected roles including Secretary, Treasurer, and Vice Chairman, while also serving as the appointed Policy Committee Representative for the Texas Young Republicans. In addition, he has been an active member of the Collin GOP Bylaws Committee, served as Chairman of the Texas Young Republicans Constitution and Bylaws Committee, and as Treasurer of the Texas Young Republican PAC.
He was also elected as First Alternate Delegate again to the 2020 Republican National Convention, this time representing Texas CD3.
Since 2018, he has been nominated as a delegate to every SD, RPT, and Texas YR convention here in Texas, and every Young Republican National Convention since 2009 representing CA and TX.
And if that weren’t enough, he has served on the Plano Bond Referendum Citizen Advisory Committee, acted as campaign treasurer for multiple local Republican candidates, and was recently appointed as the Collin County GOP Parliamentarian.
Outside of politics, he has been a licensed CPA since 2010 and enjoys trips to Austin to visit his family—who, following his lead, also left the West Coast for the great state of Texas.
It is truly fitting that this year’s Dixie Clem Young Republican of the Year Award goes to someone whose dedication, service, and leadership so clearly reflect the spirit of this honor.
