McLean Fire and Rescue - NY

McLean Fire and Rescue was dispatched to a two vehicle crash on North Rd at Malloryville Rd. East just before 3pm today. The crash broke a power pole with high voltage power lines.
There were five people involved with one person transported to Upstate Hospital. Four others were not transported.
Assisting were Dryden Ambulance, Dryden Fire Dept and fire police, Freeville Fire Dept fire police, Bangs Ambulance, Tompkins County EMS, and TLC Ambulance.

We are sad to share that Norma Totman passed away this afternoon at the age of 94. Norma was a 74-year active member of the McLean Auxiliary and helped pave the way for today's success. We will announce arrangements when they are available.

On June 8th at approximately 4:20 PM, McLean Fire Rescue and Dryden Ambulance were dispatched to the scene of a three-car motor vehicle accident (MVA) at the intersection of Route 13 and Gulf Hill Road. Upon arrival, crews discovered two vehicles and a box truck that were involved in the collision.
The initial assessment revealed the extent of damage and the need for additional resources. Crews requested assistance from TLC Ambulance, Dryden Fire Department, and Virgil Fire Department. Dryden Fire Department and Virgil Fire Department were requested to close Route 13 between Sweetland Road and Dutcher Road for approximately 90 minutes. Dryden Ambulance transported three patients to Upstate Trauma for precautionary evaluation while TLC Ambulance transported one patient to Cortland Guthrie. All units were cleared at 6pm and the scene turned over to law enforcement.

The McLean Fire Department has taken delivery of an ELECTRIC VEHICLE plug. This plug will trick an electric vehicle into thinking that it’s hooked up to a charger port. It will make it safer for the firefighters to work around. Thank you Margaret Rich for your support.
