Hurray for Emily Autumn Yu! 🎓✨

Born in August of 2004, Emily joined the Yu family on Halloween in 2005 as a tiny one-year-old weighing less than 15 pounds. This month, she celebrated an incredible milestone by graduating from San Jose State University with a degree in Communication!

Her family could not be more proud of all she has accomplished. Congratulations, Emily! Your future is so bright, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things ahead for you. 💛

Thank you to Edward Yu and Amy P**n for sharing this wonderful update with us!

This week, our missions team in Ethiopia had the opportunity to spend time with our new Bete Hosanna residents. The girls prepared a traditional Ethiopian meal for the team and shared some of their daily life and culture, teaching them how to eat Ethiopian food, roast coffee beans, and even how they do their laundry.

The team also learned that in Ethiopian tradition, the oldest man in the room cuts the bread and prays over the meal, so one of our team members had the honor of doing just that!

After lunch, everyone (except for two residents who were studying at university 📚) enjoyed a trip to Unity Park together. It was a joyful, meaningful time filled with connection, laughter, and learning. 🇪🇹

In 2002, Hannah Mei-Ling Horst Dumont was adopted from China through America World at just 8 months old. Now, we’re celebrating an incredible milestone as Hannah graduates with her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville!

Hannah is now serving as a case manager for individuals experiencing homelessness, living out her compassionate and servant-hearted calling every day. And as if that wasn’t enough to celebrate, Hannah was also married last year! ♥️

Her proud parents, Dennis and Michelle Horst, shared these updates and wrote, “Hannah has a true servant’s heart. Thank you, America World! Our lives were forever changed!”

Stories like Hannah’s are a beautiful reminder of the lifelong impact of adoption.

These are the five 12th graders who recently arrived to live at Bete Hosanna. 😍 They are dressed in their school uniforms and ready for school.

Thanks to the America World van, they now ride to school together each day. For the first time ever, they also carry lunchboxes and eat lunch at school.

Every single day, they are so excited and incredibly thankful to have lunches to take with them — something they did not have before while living at the government orphanage. They also love riding in the van to school each morning!

✨ Sweet moments like this remind us how many everyday things we often take for granted. Thank you to all of our supporters who make this life-changing ministry possible.

Bianca is a sweet little girl who responds to love through smiles, cuddles, music, and gentle connection. Though she faces significant medical challenges, she deserves the comfort, security, and unconditional love of a family that will cherish her every step of the way. 💕

As students wrap up the school year, we wanted to share this sweet connection! 💜

Padama and Ari Jo were both adopted from India through America World by different families, yet they now attend the same school! The Moore family adopted Ari first, and Kacy Moore’s longtime friend, Kari Pressley, began asking questions about the adoption process while Kacy was still in India. Not long after Ari arrived home, Kari’s family began their own adoption journey.

Today, these two girls share not only a school, but a special bond rooted in their stories. 🥰

It’s also a beautiful reminder of the impact adoptive families can have simply by sharing their experiences. In fact, 48% of families who adopt through America World do so because they know someone who adopted first. What an incredible ripple effect of love and encouragement!
