Our Water & Wastewater Department team spent the day out on the water, cleaning up two miles of the Barren Fork River below the dam as part of the McMinnville Rotary Club's Adopt-A-River Mile program!

Check out the incredible difference their efforts made along this stretch of the river. A huge thank you to these gentlemen for their hard work and dedication to preserving our local waterways!

Keeping our rivers beautiful takes all of us. If your group, business, or family is interested in adopting a river mile, please reach out to the McMinnville Rotary Club to learn how you can get involved.

Let's all do our part to care for our natural environment so everyone can enjoy the beauty of McMinnville!

๐Ÿšจ ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE ๐Ÿšจ

Due to an emergency water main leak, the Water Department will be temporarily closing W Main St from Ross Ave to W End Ave while crews complete repairs.

Please avoid the area and use alternate routes.

Thank you for your patience, and a huge thank you to our team for working hard on a Friday evening to get this fixed! ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ๐Ÿ’ง

We are thrilled to share that the City of McMinnville has been awarded a $100,000 Recreational Trails Program grant from TDEC!

This funding will allow us to enhance and expand the Bigbee River Trail, building on the wonderful 1.07-mile path created by community volunteers along the Barren Fork River.

What is coming to the Bigbee River Trail:

๐Ÿฅพ 1.07-Mile Shared-Use Trail: A machine-graded, natural-surface trail built for walkers, runners, and cyclists.

๐ŸŒ‰ 90-Foot Boardwalk: Converting the current bridge into an upgraded 90-foot boardwalk.

๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Clear Wayfinding & Signage: Standardized maps and trail markers along the entire route.

๐Ÿš— New Trailhead Parking: Improved, designated parking areas at Rocket Park, Salleyโ€™s Alley, and Hobbs Park.

โ™ฟ ADA Accessible Overlook Route: Designated accessible parking and a connector trail leading directly to the overlook platform.

๐Ÿšฒ Youth Mountain Bike Skills Area: A 3,600-square-foot area at Hobbs Park with 10 skill components.

These improvements preserve the hard work of local trail advocates and move us closer to a connected outdoor recreation network for our community!

A huge thank you to TDEC and TNECD for investing in McMinnvilleโ€™s outdoor spaces!
