Tonight around 5pm we were called out for a missing gentleman who got separated from his friend while out scoping the area for hunting and to take some pictures of the scenery. He has hunted this area for 40 years with his buddy but in an instant Mr. Nistler was no where to be found. His friend quickly notified law enforcement. Deputies were able to locate Mr. Nistler as they could hear him calling out for help. Our SAR team arrived and got down to where they were to help extract him up the steep terrain. Other members of our SAR team started making a clear path for them to hike up. We all eventually made it back up to the top where Mr. Nistler was checked out by EMS and was cleared to go home to have some dinner with his lovely wife.

Moments like these remind our Search and Rescue team exactly why we do what we do.
Every call, every long hour, and every tough stretch of terrain comes down to one simple purpose — reuniting families with their loved ones.

There’s nothing more rewarding than knowing someone gets to go home, to be surrounded by the people who care about them most.

This is why we train. This is why we respond. This is why we serve.
