We presented Mr. Smith his 80 year membership certificate back in June. We salute your service and commemorate your remarkable life.

On Monday, July 13 Warren County lost one of its last surviving WWII veterans with the passing of Charles Smith at the age of 101.

The staff of the Main Street Journal and Main Street Media is thankful for Mr. Smith's service and we extend our thoughts and prayers to his family. In honor of his service, MSJ is proud to republish a previous article about Smith from March 2026.

We had the honor 🎖 of presenting Mr. Charles Smith with his astonishing 80 Year membership certificate along with a Post 173 ball cap and American Flag 🇺🇲 lapel pin. He is the longest serving member in Post 173 history and one of the longest serving members in the Nation.
