The McMinnville Police Department is proud to partner with the Warren County Sheriff’s Department, Tennessee Highway Patrol, Tennessee Trucking Association, and Reddrick Ford Dealership to host a FREE CarFit Event on Monday, May 18, 2026, from 9:00 A.M. until Noon at Three Star Mall.

CarFit is an educational program developed by AARP and the American Occupational Therapy Association designed to help older adults make sure their vehicles are properly adjusted for maximum comfort and safety. During the event, trained technicians and health professionals will work one-on-one with participants to ensure they “fit” their vehicle correctly. Each CarFit check takes approximately 20 minutes.

Older drivers are often among the safest drivers on the road, but proper vehicle adjustments can further improve safety and mobility. A proper fit can help increase visibility, comfort, reaction time, and overall driver safety.

In addition to CarFit checks, Reddrick Ford Dealership will have a representative available to assist community members with linking their cell phones to their vehicles.

We encourage anyone interested to stop by and take advantage of this free opportunity to improve safety and comfort while driving.

Something terrible has just happened!! You need help and you need it fast. Frantically you fumble for your phone. You try to hold it together but this is just really bad, it might even be the worst day of your life.

You take a deep breath and dial 911.

A calm voice answers…. “911, what’s your emergency”….

You immediately loose it! You’re talking fast. Barely able to breathe. You’re not thinking straight, not even sure you’re getting the words out.

The voice that answered has the training, experience, and unique talent to stop you, calm you, and help you.

Before the lights and sirens ever roll out, your journey to the other side of this awful day, this worst moment, begins, and it begins with something as simple a voice… that voice from a person you can’t see, that voice from a person you’ve never meet and may never meet, that voice that’s sends help your way and fast!

That voice is a 911 dispatcher.

24 hours a day, 7 days a week

From every panicked, upset, hurting voice, thank you for answering the call.

The Emergency Storm Shelter located inside the Three Star Mall will open at 8pm and remain open throughout the night. Cots,Pillows, and blankets will be provided. You may certainly bring your own if you plan to stay the night. Please bring any medication that you need to take during this time. If you bring your personal devices for movies or games, please be respectful of others and bring headphones or earbuds.
