HEALTHY COMMUNITIES
NEED SAFE PLACES TO BE ACTIVE

👩🏻‍⚕️ As local healthcare professionals, we know the value of physical activity, time outdoors, and safe places for people of all ages to move.

Yamhill County should keep the possibility of the Yamhelas-Westsider Trail alive.

A future trail could give children, families, older adults, walkers, runners, and cyclists a place to be active away from fast-moving traffic.

For us, this is about more than recreation:
➡️ Physical activity supports healthier lives.
➡️ Safe places to walk and bicycle matter.
➡️ Outdoor spaces strengthen families and communities.

Measure 36-241 does not build the trail or approve a particular design.

A YES vote restores the Yamhelas-Westsider Trail to Yamhill County’s Transportation System Plan so our community can continue planning for the future.

Any future proposal would still need to address agricultural impacts and comply with Oregon law.

We do not need every question answered today to recognize the value of keeping this opportunity open for the future health, vitality, and wellbeing of Yamhill County.

As healthcare professionals and members of this community, we believe preserving that opportunity is the healthier choice.

We are local business owners who believe the Yamhelas-Westsider Trail could create new opportunities for Yamhill County.

Visitors already come here for our farms, wineries, food, lodging, shops, community events, and beautiful countryside. A future trail could give them another reason to stay longer, visit our small towns, and experience more of what our county offers.

Those opportunities matter to residents too. A trail could provide another place to walk, run, and ride while connecting people with communities along the corridor.

Measure 36-241 does not build the trail, approve a particular development plan, or allocate funds.

A YES vote restores the Yamhelas-Westsider Trail to Yamhill County’s Transportation System Plan so our community can continue planning for the future.

Any future proposal would still need to address agricultural impacts and comply with Oregon law.

We cannot promise exactly what the trail will become or how much economic activity it might generate.

We simply believe it makes sense to keep the opportunity open.

Yamhill County’s farms, small towns, local businesses, recreation, and tourism can all be part of a strong future.

Friends of YamhelasWestsiderTrail have withdrawn from their appeal to the Land Use Board of Appeal. The referendum on the November 2026 ballot will decide if the Yamhelas Westsider Trail will remain on Yamhill County’s transportation plan.
