Last week Representative Andrea Salinas visited the Board of Commissioners and as part of her visit presented the Board with a check for almost $2 million for the Yamhill County Transit system. This funding will be used to replace vehicles as they age out of service. A big thank you to Representative Salinas for all her work in securing this crucial funding!

Yesterday, Board of Commissioners Chair Kit Johnston cut the ribbon on the new Yamhill County Commissioners Hearing Room at the County’s Government Services Building (GSB).

Steve Patterson, the CEO of OMI welcomed the County to the building and spoke about his memories of first moving into the building when OMI built it back in 2006/7

Chair Johnston thanked staff for their work in making a tremendous change from independent buildings around downtown to being all together in one building, which is a big cultural change.

After the brief ceremony it was immediately back to business for the Commissioners and staff as they held their first formal session in the new chambers.

Child support plays a vital role in ensuring children have access to stable housing, nutrition, medical care, and educational opportunities. Here in Yamhill County, our Child Support Division provides essential services to families across the community.

In Fiscal Year 25/26, Yamhill County collected $5,561,671 in support for local children and families, serving an average of 1,291 cases, with an average of $4,308 collected per case. These dollars directly contribute to the health and stability of children in our community.

Our office is committed to administering child support matters with fairness, accessibility, and accountability. If you have questions about establishing, modifying, or enforcing child support orders, our team is here to assist.
