May 4th is International Firefighters Day.

This global observance pays tribute to those who lost their lives in the line of duty and recognizes the invaluable contribution of fire services in ensuring public safety. Firefighters play a crucial role not just in firefighting but also in rescue operations, disaster management, and emergency response systems.

Today we honor the courage and sacrifice of both professional and volunteer firefighters.

Thank you for all you do!!

April 12-18 is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. We honor our first first responders, our country’s incredible 911 professionals. In a moment of crisis, they are the first voice heard, our lifelines, our calm in the chaos, providing unwavering support for the public and the emergency responders they work alongside.
Please join us in recognizing their dedication and all they do to keep our community safe.

The Fire Department will be hosting a special event tomorrow, Friday, 4/10 for car seat inspections. Contact the Fire Department to schedule your appointment.
Can't make it on 4/10? You can still contact the Fire Department to schedule a car seat inspection. We typically schedule appointments Tuesday - Friday after 4 PM or anytime on weekends.

Peters Township Fire Department will conduct a live fire training exercise at a vacant building in the 100 block of Hill Place Road in Peters Township on Saturday, March 28, 2026.

During the training, Hill Place Road will be CLOSED BETWEEN Justabout Road and Trotters Court from approximate 8am-4pm. Please plan an alternate route if you normally pass through that area.

This training exercise is approved and permitted by the PA Department of Environmental Protection, the property owner, and Peters Township. The training is sponsored by the PA State Fire Academy, Community College of Allegheny County, and the Peters Township Fire Department.

These types of training are among the most resource-intensive and realistic exercises in the fire service, allowing us to properly train our members.

Special thanks to the property owners, Fire Instructors, and all personnel involved in making this training happen.
