The NWS has placed a significant amount of the state under the "slight risk" or yellow/level 2. Hopefully there are more refined data and models available tomorrow instead of a giant map that says 🤷.

The slight risk of severe storms on Monday is a little larger in area now.

We would like to thank everyone who took the time to drop off goodies, meals, snacks, and words of encouragement in recognition of EMS Week. Your support and appreciation truly mean a great deal to our crews.

Tonight, we gathered department members, their families, and fellow first responder agencies to celebrate this week together. While EMS Week gives an opportunity to recognize emergency medical services nationally, our crews serve this community far beyond just one week out of the year.

Every day, every night, and every hour in between, our teams respond to a wide variety of calls- from life-threatening medical emergencies to simply helping a member of our community back off the floor after a fall. No matter the situation, our crews answer the call with professionalism, compassion, and dedication.

Our technicians and their family support systems are worth far more than one week of recognition. Their commitment to this community continues 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and we are proud of the work they do each and every shift.

Thank you again to everyone who helped make this week special and to those who continue to support emergency services throughout the year.

Happy EMS week!🚑💙

This week we celebrate the men and women who answer the call at all hours of the day.

From lift assists to life-saving interventions, our crews show up ready to serve this community every single day. EMS is more than sirens and lights — it’s teamwork, compassion, long shifts, cold coffee, station dinners interrupted by tones, and doing whatever it takes for our patients.

We are incredibly proud of our providers and thankful for the support from our community, dispatchers, firefighters, law enforcement, nurses, hospital staff, and everyone we work alongside. Especially those who bring us safety snacks!🫶🏼

If you see an EMS provider this week, take a moment to thank them for what they do! 🚑👏

🚔💙 National Police Week 💙🚔
This week, we want to recognize the men and women in law enforcement who serve our communities day in and day out.

From chaotic scenes to quiet late-night calls, we’re grateful to work alongside officers who show professionalism, courage, and dedication no matter the situation. Whether it’s directing traffic for a wreck, helping calm a patient in crisis, or standing shoulder to shoulder with us on difficult calls, your teamwork never goes unnoticed.

EMS and law enforcement may wear different uniforms, but we share the same goal: protecting and serving our community.

Thank you for the long hours, the sacrifices, and the commitment you bring every single shift.

Stay safe out there — we’re proud to work beside you. 🚑🤝🚓

P.S. We know how particular our officers are about their snacks, Krispy Kreme said they were entirely sold out this week!🍩😉

For Release:
May 10th, 2026

McPherson EMS is proud to have supported the 2026 All Schools Day Parade and festivities alongside our public safety partners, volunteers, and community organizations.

During the event, McPherson EMS staffed four ambulances and two supervisor vehicles to help ensure rapid response coverage throughout the celebration. Over the duration of the parade, EMS responded to five calls for service.

Through extensive pre-planning, coordination, and operational planning, crews were able to maintain smooth operations and timely responses while supporting one of McPherson’s longest-standing traditions.

McPherson EMS is honored to be part of these celebrations each year, welcoming both local residents and visitors to our community. We appreciate the teamwork demonstrated by all first responder agencies, event staff, and volunteers who help make All Schools Day a safe and successful event for everyone.

We look forward to

🚑Your All Schools Day crew is ready to go!🚑

The trucks are shined, the candy is stocked, and the crews are ready to trade emergency traffic for parade traffic!

We’re honored to be a part of a tradition that brings the whole community together year after year❤️

We have 4 medic units in service and 2 supervisor vehicles. All of which will be staged to cover various quadrants of the city to ensure the fastest, most efficient response with the increase in traffic. Be safe and have fun! Happy All Schools Day!!!🎉

🚑💉 HAPPY NURSES WEEK! 💉🚑
To the nurses who somehow manage to:
• decode our radio reports
• tolerate our “stable-ish” patients
•find IV access where we swore there wasn’t one
•and care for not only your patients, but your coworkers as well

Thank you for being the calm in the chaos, the organized brains behind the ER, and the people who always seem to have the answer (or at least the good snacks).

Whether it’s the ER, ICU, OB, floor, clinic, or anywhere in between, you’re the glue holding healthcare together. Your patience, compassion, and ability to function on caffeine and pure determination deserves serious respect.

Healthcare would fall apart without you, and we’re grateful to work beside you every day.

From your McPherson EMS family:
Thanks for everything you do, this week and every week. And, thank you for the occasional 2am mercy snack/energy drinks. We couldn’t do this without you. ❤️

🚑 Two services. One goal. Two babies. 👶👶
In February, a call came in for active labor. The call originated in Moundridge EMS territory, but the family was racing to the hospital and pulled over in McPherson EMS territory.
Then dispatch added a twist…
It was twins.
Knowing they’d need extra hands, our crew requested help. Without hesitation, Moundridge EMS kept coming to assist.
Both crews arrived on scene within 30 seconds of each other, and it was time to get to work.
👶 Baby A decided not to wait and was delivered right there in the backseat of the patient’s vehicle.
👶 Baby B made their grand entrance shortly after with EMS delivering at the hospital.
We’re happy to report that both babies and mom are doing great!
This call is a perfect example of what it means to serve in EMS. Even though we may represent different agencies, the mission is always the same:
Provide the best possible care to every patient, every time.
When help is needed, we answer the call — even if that call comes from another EMS service. We’re grateful to have such great neighbors in Moundridge EMS that we can rely on.
Because of the incredible teamwork and patient care that day, the following providers were awarded their Stork Pins:
🎉 Captain/Paramedic Meyers – McPherson EMS
🎉 EMT Dauer – McPherson EMS
🎉 Paramedic Bradley Moundridge EMS
🎉 AEMT Hammar – Moundridge EMS
Congratulations to all involved in a truly special call!
