Exciting work the last week on the pollinator garden — behind Fire Station No. 1 on Kansas Ave. We are so excited to take a small piece of unused land and turn it into something that can benefit our community and some winged visitors. The walking path is now more defined as planting area retaining walls are installed, and the sprinkler system is up and running. .

🤗Exciting things are taking root inside the McPherson pollinator garden. Wetlands Irrigation has started installing the new water feature. Our eventual buzzing, fluttering, winged visitors are going to love it. 🐝💦🦋
This is going to be such a great way to make the garden come alive. We can’t wait!

😳We're in the final week of July. Can you believe it? Only a few days left in National Parks & Recreation Month. Let's throw out another clue in our flower hunt. 💐
🕵️‍♀️Clue for July 27, 2026 — I am bold, beautiful and impossible to ignore. I turn ordinary gardens into a tropical escape. I am a tropical plant, often grown from rhizomes. I add dramatic height and color to summer gardens. I thrive in hot, humid weather and attract pollinators. What am I? Find me in a park, take a picture and maybe win a prize!
