🚨Turn Around Don’t Drown!🚨

We are seeing several roads flooded over, please watch Guadalupe County Texas Emergency Management and Fire Marshal page for updated road closures.

Additionally;

⚠️ River Conditions Update – Guadalupe River
The Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority (GBRA) has notified Guadalupe County that Lake Dunlap Dam is currently releasing approximately 5,000 cubic feet per second (cfs).
While no immediate emergency exists, residents living along the Guadalupe River are encouraged to take precautions by ⚠️securing boats, docks, outdoor furniture, and other belongings that could be affected by rising water levels.⚠️

Please remain aware of changing river and weather conditions and continue to monitor official updates from Guadalupe County, the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority (GBRA), and your preferred local news outlets.

Stay safe and use caution near the river.

Current road closures as of UPDATE 7/16 @ 145pm:

Crews are currently out checking roadways, some roadway may be open and we haven't been updated. However, be cautious regardless of barricades being placed or not as weather conditions can change rapidly and roads that were clear can quickly become impassable.

This evening McQueeney was honored to host Shawn Bloemker from Max Fire Training for the in-service training on our new Max Fire Box and Seek Thermal Cameras. 20 McQueeney and Guadalupe County area firefighters gathered to learn from one of the industries best and brightest on how to use our new Thermal Imagers to their full potential. We'd like to extend a huge thanks to Shawn for making the trip from Illinois to come spend the evening with us and share his knowledge

🚨BREAKING NEWS!🚨

We weren't the only ones excited the lake is back!

We found Gracie the giraffe taking our new water rescue boat for a test run — and apparently she'd already promoted herself to Rescue Captain.

When we approached her she took off running… on those long legs we didn't stand a chance. 🦒💨
We hope Gracie is found safe soon, but in the meantime you might catch us out on the lake training and putting our new zodiac through its paces!

This course will focus on incident command, fire ground tactics, command and control, resource requests, size up, and fire ground operations in a low staffed setting.
Ideal for small municipalities and volunteer departments where senior leadership may not always be present or where the department is stretched thin, this class aims to make all members of the organization tactically competent if they were to be first arriving and assuming the command role.

Chief Dennis Reilly is a U.S. Army veteran of Operation Desert Storm and a 50-year fire service leader. He began his fire career in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, where he rose to the rank of Battalion Chief. After retiring, he transitioned into senior Chief Officer roles across the country, serving in Kansas, Missouri, North Carolina, and California. From combat zones to command posts, Reilly has lived a life of disciplined service and high-impact leadership.

Now retired, Chief Reilly owns The First Line Fire Service Training Company LLC, where he delivers intensive, mission-focused training built around cultural transformation, operational accountability, and frontline leadership. Departments nationwide seek his guidance to spark internal change and elevate their culture throughout the ranks.

Chief Reilly is a veteran instructor of national conferences such as FDIC, LIFT, CFT, Revolutionary Fire Tactics, and many others.
