The McRae-Helena Fire Department proudly serves Approximately 12,500 citizens within a roughly 97 square mile area. The McRae-Helena Fire Department offers Structural Fire Suppression, Wildland Fire Suppression, Hazmat Operational/Technical Level, Fire Prevention Education, Extrication, Emergency Medical Responder, and other Technical Rescue Services. We are a combination fire department with four

We would like to thank Dairy Queen of McRae-Helena for helping us feed our firefighters while they were fighting a wild land fire in rural Telfair County. Please support our local businesses and thank them for the support they provide back to our community every day. Also, please be advised we are in drought conditions with extremely high fire dangers. No burning of any type until further advised.

The Georgia Forestry Commission has issued a Burn Ban that covers 91 counties. Current wildfire locations are showed on this map as well. Please refrain from burning outdoors. Follow all local guidance and restrictions and be extremely cautious with anything that could create a spark.
