📚🚌 School is Back in Session! 🚌📚

As students head back to school, Telfair Wheeler E-911 would like to remind everyone to slow down and stay alert. School buses will be back on the roads, and children will be walking to bus stops, crossing streets, and traveling to and from school.

Please remember:
🛑 Stop for school buses when their stop arm is extended and red lights are flashing.
🚸 Watch for children in crosswalks, neighborhoods, and around bus stops.
🚗 Slow down in school zones and eliminate distractions while driving.
⏰ Leave a few minutes early so you don’t feel rushed.

A little extra patience can make a big difference and help keep our children safe. Let’s work together to make this school year a safe one for everyone.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 7:30 PM for Dodge, Montgomery, Telfair, Toombs, and Wheeler Counties.

⛈️ Hazards:
🌬️ Wind gusts up to 60 MPH
🌳 Tree damage and scattered power outages are possible.

If you’re in the warned area, move indoors immediately and stay away from windows. Avoid unnecessary travel until the storm has passed.

📱 Stay weather aware and monitor trusted weather sources for updates. If it’s safe to do so, report any storm damage after the storm passes.
