Our interns have been working HARD and are excited to provide the following opportunities for Meade County youth this summer! (Bonus: most of these activities are FREE!) June 26: CHALK OUR WALK at the Extension Office from 10am-12pm. No registration or fee! Popsicles and chalk provided. (All ages.)

July 1: Meade County Day Camp at Meade City Park from 9am-2pm. Registration deadline is June 25th. Fee: $10. Lunch provided! Register at https://bit.ly/4dSvjtp (Ages 5-11 years.)

July 6: Mandatory Geology Lesson for the Selenite Crystal Digging Trip at the Extension Office at 1pm. See more details below.

NEW THIS YEAR! Youth entering 5th through 12th grades: visit the Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge near Jet, Oklahoma on July 7th for a chance to dig for hourglass-shaped selenite crystals! Transportation, lunch, and water will be provided for a registration fee of $5. There will be a MANDATORY informational session on July 6th at the office at 1:00PM. Participants MUST attend this session in order to be eligible for the trip.

• It takes 4-6 hours to return cattle to regular temperature.
• The amount of water cattle need doubles as the heat increases from 70 to 90 degrees
