Duties include but are not limited to; documenting and maintaining records of inmate activities, report writing, addressing inmate requests, performing security checks, identifying, and responding to safety/ security concerns, conflict resolution, booking in and releasing of inmates, and transporting inmates to other facilities, court, doctor, and dental appointments. This position requires long periods of walking, standing and occasional lifting.

Have you ever talked yourself out of a Marketplace purchase because you didn't know the seller. Are you frequently selling items and have to meet absolute strangers to make the transaction?

We'd like to assist in creating a safe space for both internet purchases/exchanges as well as child custody exchanges. Signs for this space are in and plan to be installed by the end of the week on the south end of the Meade County Sheriff's Office at 223 N. Meade Center.

This space will be monitored 24 hours via security cameras but if a deputy is needed for a civil standby, please call 620-873-8765 before your meet time and we will be there for you.
