I have been working on Ag Career Day 2013 for our Juniors and Seniors of Meade County and surrounding schools, and now looking for sponsors to assist us with the success of providing our local high school students with knowledge of Agricultural related careers. This is very important to us getting the word out to our local families that we are here to educate our children in what they can pursue in college and possibly bring back to their home community. We had a huge success last year with over 150 attendees and looking forward to having more success this year!!! I am currently working on getting reminders out to the schools to RSVP to the Conservation District on or before August 30th so we can get an approximate head count of students and school sponsors; as well as working on getting the word out to our sponsors, communities, students, administrators, and teachers to come up with more hands on activities as well as informative sessions that would open up more opportunities for the students to ask questions and possibly receive some answers. Ag Career Day has become an annual event for the schools, which will take place on the 1st Wednesday of October every year and we would like to invite you to join us! With last year being the first year, I saw a few things that needed to be changed for this year and many great ideas to add in the future! If your company, school, or organization would be interested in any part of this; whether it be donating door prizes, giving monetary donations, assisting with the planning, or attending , please let us know as soon as possible so we can get schedules and sponsor lists out for our big day!!! I would like to have my sponsor list put together on or before September 13, 2013 so we have more than enough time to get our t-shirts printed for all attendee’s and will be able to have schedules made out for sponsors and students. If you have any comments or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to share so we can be sure and add your special touch into our big day!
