Crawford County GIS is undergoing a major upgrade starting Monday December 4th. During this period, our web services will be temporarily down as we work on upgrading the system.

For those of you that don't know and an update for those that do. We're still experiencing server difficulties that are effecting all our web GIS services. We are currently working to resolve this issue. As I know so many people rely on our apps espically the property search I've made a temporary Property search on another server to act as a stop gap till the servers are restored. You can find this link it big blue text on the top of the GIS portion of the county website just below the logo as well as in this post. It operates much like the existing property search but in a much simpler form. This link will only be live during our server outage once services are restored we'll go back to using the existing link. Thank you all for you patience while we restore our servers.

During our internal test a couple things of note came up to mention while using the temporary viewer.

Search function not as robust as we don’t have access to our normal search methods. If it’s not exact it might not get picked up in search. In that case you might have to manually zoom in to point of interest.

After you search it will only give you address point information initially you have to click into the parcel to get the parcel information and vice versa when you want to get back to address point information.

We don’t have access to our imagery for this temporary viewer, so were using ESRI hosted imagery and they appear to intentionally make imagery blurry when you zoom in close for privacy.

Did you know that there are almost 59,000 parcels in the county? If you need to update your parcel boundaries, make sure to submit your surveys to the county! For general error reporting please use our GIS error reporting survey. Please remember that the data used for map creation is approximate and should not be used for site-specific decision making.

Hello all,

Usually, I just post as Crawford County GIS, but today I wanted to step out from behind the curtain to say goodbye and provide you an update. I have been running this page to keep you updated with all news related to Crawford County GIS.

I have officially resigned my position at the county, with 8/5/2022 being my last day, but have no fear, Crawford County GIS will still be here to serve you. The County is in the process of hiring a new GIS Manager to replace my position. So, our very talented team of employees here at Crawford County (in various offices), have offered to help where they can until the next GIS Manager is hired.
Over the last 19 years (16 years involving GIS), I am very thankful to have worked with various Boards of Commissioners, Department Heads, and County Employees who carried the GIS program from our humble beginnings to what it is now. If you use our GIS services, make sure you pass along your appreciation to our County Commissioners! Please be patient with those folks during the time between GIS Managers, they are taking on extra duties to transition to the new GIS Manager.

In closing, I’d like to say, thanks for the support over the years, I’m glad we were able to make a difference for you! Also, another County Employee has taken over this page, so please continue to follow us for updates!
