Meadville Public Library has received the PA Forward Pennsylvania Libraries Gold Star Award! This award recognizes our commitment to providing community-centered programming that educates, informs, and connects.

PA Forward highlights five key literacies: Basic, Information, Civic and Social, Health, and Financial. The Gold Star highlights all of the unseen work the library does to provide information, technology, and learning that fuels educational and economic opportunity for our entire community.

Our friends at the Oil Region Astronomy Society have decided to have one final rain date for our Exploring the Night Sky event next Wednesday, June 3. Join us next week in the Eldred Glenn parking lot (44933 Thurston Rd, Meadville) on Wednesday, June 3 from 8:30 PM to 10:00 PM to get a hands-on look at the night sky!

Unearth a Story: Summer Reading is Coming!

From June 8 to August 7, we’re inviting readers of all ages to check out the Library and dig into a summer full of reading, free community events, and new discoveries. There are two ways to win:

While last year’s summer reading program was successful, Meadville Public Library Executive Director Dan Slozat said they’re “digging deeper” with this year’s fossil-themed programming.

We'll be postponing the second part of our stargazing session with Oil Region Astronomical Society planned for tonight. Join us next week in the Eldred Glenn parking lot (44933 Thurston Rd, Meadville) on Wednesday, May 27 from 8:30 PM to 10:00 PM to get a hands-on look at the night sky!

The Library will close at 1 PM this Saturday, May 23 and will be closed on Monday, May 25 for Memorial Day. We will reopen for normal hours on Tuesday, May 26.
