We are currently issuing Stand-By Parking Lot Vouchers at the Welcome Center as spaces become available.
Wait times for obtaining a parking lot space today will be lengthy and could range from 30 minutes to several hours based on parking space availability.
To obtain a Stand-By Parking Lot Voucher, you must sign up on the Standby List available at the Welcome Center. Be advised that signing up on the Stand-By List does not guarantee entry, as parking is limited and subject to availability.
Please note that vehicles with trailers will be turned away once the Stand-By parking area has reached capacity.
Reminder: Please park responsibly. Parking lot spaces in both lots are estimated to be 12 feet wide. Keeping the distance between your trailer and your neighbor’s trailer to a minimum allows more users to park and enjoy the dunes. We have partnered with Michigan State University to conduct a visitor-use management study at Silver Lake ORV Area. Representatives from MSU continue to contact visitors along the ORV area beach boundary to conduct surveys. Your input is important so taking this survey is a great way for you to participate, have your voice heard, and play a part in future mananagment decisions for the ORV area. This on-site study will gather data to guide the future management, making a sustainable and enjoyable experience for everyone. If you are selected, we’d appreciate your participation. Thanks! Due to a mechanical issue, the Silver Lake State Park Beach House will be closed until service can be completed. Visitors are able to use the Boat Launch vault toilet for the current time. We apologize for any inconvenience and will update when the building has been repaired.

***SILVER LAKE SP BOAT LAUNCH FULL – OPEN TO LAUNCH & LEAVE ONLY***
Saturday, July 4, 2026, 1:54 pm. The Silver Lake State Park Boat Launch parking lot is full and only launch & leave is allowed at this time. Users may launch and retrieve boats but must park elsewhere until parking spaces become available. Offsite parking is available at Golden Township Park on Silver Lake Rd. (behind pavilion on grass – free) and on W. Hazel Rd. (paid parking). Please park responsibly at the offsite parking areas and be mindful of vegetation – continued offsite parking availability allows us to offer a launch & leave option when full. If parking offsite, please allow for other boats to use the launch to prevent traffic backups.
• If designated barrier free parking spaces are available, persons displaying a parking placard (card, mirror tag, etc.) will be allowed to park.
Boaters are advised to launch during non-peak use periods if possible.
