On February 6, 2025, at approximately 1919 hours, the Mebane Police Department received a report of shots fired into an occupied apartment at a complex on N. First Street in Mebane. A dark-colored vehicle, possibly a Ford Flex, was witnessed circling the parking lot before gunfire was discharged from within the vehicle. A thorough canvass of the area ensured no additional injuries resulted from stray projectiles. Residents confirmed hearing two gunshots with no reported injuries. The Mebane Police Department believes this to be an isolated, targeted incident with no immediate danger to Mebane's citizens.
