The Mecca Township Board of Trustees has scheduled a special meeting for Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. The location will be held at Mecca Townhall. The purpose of this meeting is to conduct interviews and make a decision regarding the hiring of personnel for an open Summer Help position.

• Road and drainage maintenance
• Grounds and cemetery care
• Facilities maintenance and cleaning
• Equipment and tool care

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Age: Must be 18 years of age or older
Experience: Landscaping, construction, or general maintenance preferred
Skills: Ability to operate hand tools and power equipment (mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, etc.)
Licensure: Valid driver’s license required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK CONDITIONS
Physical Labor: Lift/carry up to 80 lbs. Frequent bending, lifting, standing.
Environment: Outdoor work in all weather conditions
On-Call: Must respond to emergency call-outs (snow removal, hazardous roads)

COMPENSATION & HOURS
• $15.00 per hour
• Work as needed, up to 32 hours per week
• Not to exceed 1,500 hours per year

Really cool info about bird migration tonight🐦🐦‍⬛

Light out tonight! This is going to be a massive migration night now that the winds are turning out of the southwest. This is the birdcast estimate for 3 hours after sunset. Based on the winds 1,000 to 3,000 feet above the ground, the peak of the migration will likely be around midnight to 2am, and seeing 400-500 million birds in flight around that time is a very good possibility. That is more birds in the air than humans on the ground across the US. Monday night will be a very big night for the migration as well, before the winds turn mid week with a cooler pattern.
