The Silver Spring Community Fire Co, provides Fire/Rescue services to the residents and visitors of Silver Spring Township, automatic mutual aid assistance to our bordering municipalities and mutual aid to other surrounding municipalities and counties . The Silver Spring Community Fire Company shares 33 square miles of first due territory with New Kingstown Fire Company and answers an average of 700-750 alarms per year.

The Silver Spring Community Fire Company provides Fire/Rescue services to the residents and visitors of Silver Spring Township sharing 1st due responsibilities with New Kingstown Fire Company. Silver Spring Township consists of 33 sq miles of suburban and rural area. The township is home to multiple residential neighborhoods in both rural and suburban area’s of the township. The township also has a large business district with large shopping complexes, Mid-Rise buildings, plenty of retail vendors, and fine dining. The west end of the township consists of multiple warehouses and commercial trucking businesses, and is home to the Whirlpool Corp’s 1.1 million sq ft warehouse. The township is also the basis of the Cumberland Valley School District. The township is home to 3 of 8 Elementary Schools, 1 of 2 Middle Schools, the Senior High School, as well as the districts Football Stadium and District Office. The company also provides automatic mutual aid services to the surrounding municipalities of Mechanicsburg Boro, Hampden Twp, Monroe Twp, and Middlesex Twp as well as mutual aid to multiple jurisdictions within Cumberland, Perry, and York Counties. The Silver Spring Community Fire Company is a 100% all volunteer organization handling 700-800 alarms annually.
