Culinary Institute of America Chef George Shannon demonstrates sauté techniques to Culinary Specialists assigned to Naval Construction Battalion Center (NCBC) Gulfport, during a culinary training course at Colmer Dining Facility. The training partnership equipped CSs assigned to the Colmer with additional skills in preparation for the launch of the Campus Style Dining Initiative. The initiative highlights the Navy’s commitment to improving the galley experience to support warfighter readiness, wellness, and performance through better nutrition.

Sailors representing the Navy's afloat and ashore winners of the 2026 Captain Edward F. Ney Memorial Food Service Awards were formally honored during a Military Foodservice Awards dinner in Chicago, May 15.
