The Captain Edward F. Ney Memorial Award for excellence in food service represents the highest honor we can bestow on an ashore or afloat galley.
Secretary Phelan recently announced the following category winners:
(1) East Coast Submarine: USS IOWA (SSN 797)
(2) West Coast Submarine: USS MISSISSIPPI (SSN 782)
(3) Small East Coast Afloat: USS NITZE (DDG 94)
(4) Small West Coast Afloat: USS DECATUR (DDG 73)
(5) Medium East Coast Afloat: USS FORT LAUDERDALE (LPD 28)
(6) Medium West Coast Afloat: USS SAN DIEGO (LPD 22)
(7) Large Afloat: USS MAKIN ISLAND (LHD 8)
(8) Aircraft Carrier: USS GEORGE H. W. BUSH (CVN 77)
(9) East Coast General Mess: Naval Station Newport, RI
(10) West Coast General Mess: Naval Air Station North Island, San Diego, CA
(11) OCONUS General Mess: Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Japan
