Books on Hemlock Drive

This Free Little Library features local authors, indie books and advanced releases! It's built on a community concept: take a book, leave a book.

Free Little Libraries is a grassroots movement that started in 2009 with a box shaped like a replica one-room schoolhouse that was filled with books to share with a neighbor. Soon more boxes were built and movement to share the love of reading with everyone began. The great thing about Free Little Libraries is that you don't have a limit to the number of books you can take, there are no due dates,

you don't even need to bring the books back! We loved the idea as soon as we learned about it as a way to give back to the community. And we know Mechanicsburg residents LOVE to read! So we will aim to keep our little library full of fun surprises for everyone. This will also be the first outside aesthetic project for our little abode that is getting a lot of much needed TLC.

A new Little Free Library opened today in Mechanicsburg! This beauty is an Eagle Scout project and can be found next to The Rosemary House at 120 S. Market Street. Check it out!

New books added to the library, including Karen Harper's newest book which won't be available anywhere else until November!

New books went out to the library! You won't find War and Turpentine and Dr. Knox anywhere else because they are advanced releases! But you can find them in our library!

New books headed out to the library! Chronicle of a Last Summer and The Curse of Tenth Grave won't be available anywhere else until June 28th, and Wind River Weangler until October 25th! But you can find them in Books on Hemlock Drive right now! Come find your new favorite book!

New books added to the library! It's rainy. Come grab a book to read. The Damascus Threat won't be released in store until August but you can find it in our library and read it before anyone else!

We're going to be doing a little spring maintenance on the library soon and we'll need to empty it for short periods. Keep an eye out for announcements before visiting, just in case. Will probably start with some sanding since its been too wet for sealing and painting so it'll stay "open" until we've dried up a bit. You may even catch a glimpse of the maintenance supervisor, our little dog, Ember. :)

New books added to the library, including The Prisoner of Hell Gate which doesn't get released until July! Get it in our library before it's available anywhere else! I also saw some new ones had been left in the library. Come find your new favorite book!
