As one of the top winners for our recent PTA Fun Run fundraiser, Brystol chose to be Teacher for the Day! Principal Steele enjoyed meeting her and introducing her to the Kindergarten class! Today she supported students with their Reading, Writing and Math, and did a wonderful job! We have a future teacher in our midst! 😊🐻

Today in Mrs. Feustel's Kindergarten class students helped to make a map of the classroom. They had to use the map key to match the symbols in the correct location on the map. What a fantastic representation- some of our Bears are future map makers!

This is the chance for community members, staff, and stakeholders to participate in sharing your thoughts about things you like, or dislike about our current calendar and select options for future calendars. 

St. Mary’s County Public Schools (SMCPS) invites community members, staff, and stakeholders to participate in shaping the upcoming 2026-2027 & 2027-2028 school years’ operational calendars and seeks your input. To ensure community perspectives are considered, a Calendar Survey is now available for public input. The survey will be open until October 31, 2025. As one of the top winners for our recent PTA Fun Run fundraiser, Rory chose to be Principal for the Day! Here he is providing input in a meeting about school cleanliness. He also greeted students, reminded them of our 3 school rules, and designed next week's Smore newsletter! Great job today!

Great time at our after school Fall Dance with DJ Pink, and a big thank you to officers from the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office for hanging out as well! We are so thankful for their support of our school!

A special thanks to our friends at the Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department! They visited the Bears today and reviewed fire safety practices. Our Bears were able to see a firefighter dressed in all the gear, and hear the sounds to expect in the case of an actual emergency. Some of our younger Bears were able to get up close and personal with a real fire truck!

Thank you, MVFD, for supporting and teaching our Bears such important information!

It was a beautiful day for a field trip! Our Kindergarten Bears enjoyed their visit to Forrest Hall Farm today, and everyone left with a pumpkin!

WMES Families…We are so excited about the participation so far in the fun run! Please remember your child can earn a prize just for signing up and all students will participate in the fun on Friday October 3!

To date we have collected donations from 2 countries and 9 different states!! Let’s see how many different states and countries we can collect donations from this weekend!
