East Hanover Volunteer Rescue Squad We welcome new members! If you are interested in volunteering, please visit our web-page, EHVRS.ORG East Hanover VRS was founded on July 4, 1969.

The rescue squad rotates several day duty crews and six nightly duty crews for "every day of the year" coverage. Our Senior, Junior, Auxiliary, and Life Members are currently approaching 150 members, but with the fantastic growth now being experienced by the East Hanover Community and Hanover County overall, more volunteers are needed. Our bond with the Hanover Fire/EMS Department is strong as the county runs a combination system of volunteers and paid staff.

Please join us today at the National Night Out Kick Off Event at Green Top Sporting Goods in Ashland. We will be out here from 10:00am to 2:00pm.

Today is an example of the volunteers of Hanover Fire & EMS running at different stations working together for a common cause.

Captain Chris Parrish is pulling double duty today helping with show and tell for East Hanover and staffing as AIC for Ashcake. Chris is joined by Rich for show and tell from East Hanover and will be joining Anna, Megan and Courtney from Ashcake should any medical emergency happen at the event. Justice from Chickahominy is helping staff the table for East Hanover.

🚑 REMINDER: Tomorrow, Thursday 7-30-2026 EHVRS is hosting a fundraiser at the Mechanicville Panera on Bell Creek Road. Please consider dining there between 4 & 8 pm and be sure to show the flyer below, or please use code FUND4U for online or in app orders at this location. If the county does not need us, I plan to have an ambulance there for Show & Tell. We appreciate our community. Summer time in July in Mechanicsville means tomato time. This weekend is the 48th annual Tomato Festival at Pole Green Park. East Hanover Volunteer Rescue Squad is once again providing EMS services for the event along with volunteers from Ashcake and Ashland and Hanover Fire & EMS. Staffing two transport units and the gator are from left to right Captain Chris Parrish, NREMT Allison Schools, Driver Robert Steele, NREMT/Driver Rachel Bruce, AEMT/Driver Alex Hare, NREMT Diana Farrell, AEMT/Driver Drew Rich, EMT/Driver Jay Eheart and our Treasurer Debbie Eheart.
