Today we had the honor of dropping off some baked goods to our local veterans at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home. While we were there this morning, we were able to witness their memorial service and we were also able to see and chat with some familiar faces! If there is anything you would like to do to help our community, you can volunteer at CHVH! Nothing exerting, just go there, sit down and have some friendly conversations with the residents! We guarantee, the smiles you will get will be like nothing you have seen before! They feel remembered and loved. With us, we also had two cadets from the Chopticon AF-JROTC program. They were able to visit with one resident from a prior visit, and his smile lit up the entire room! Unfortunately, we learned during the service, the other had passed away since their last visit. It certainly put a lot into perspective.
NEVER FORGET OUR HEROES! We have the opportunity to visit and learn from them. Many of them do not have family locally and do not receive visitors! We plan to revisit, go through orientation and make it a common occurrence to visit them and bring smiles to their faces!
🇺🇸Happy Memorial Day! To ALL our veterans, THANK YOU for your dedicated service 🇺🇸🧁🚑
